Idalis Perez is a licensed immigration lawyer who obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University in 1999 and was admitted to The Florida Bar and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.  During her first two years as a licensed attorney, she worked as a Staff Attorney for a non-profit organization.  Her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Florida International University and the support of her paralegal and sister, Idalmis Pedraja, allowed for the realization of her dream to help immigrants to become a reality.  In 2001, the law office of Idalis Perez, P.A.  was established.

At the age of 12, Idalis immigrated to the United States from Cuba with her sister and her parents.  She was forced to leave behind family and friends that she has never been able to see again.  She dealt with many hardships while trying to adapt to the U.S..  It is for that reason that she easily empathizes with her clients of different nationalities.  Idalis is a calm, patient, and active listener who allows her clients to feel welcome and comfortable.  Her humble personality and over 20 years of experience handling immigration matters allow her to quickly assess the client's situation and offer possible solutions depending on the client's needs.

Idalis is fully bilingual and enjoys every one of her consultations.  During law school, she was an intern at the LUCHA Project, a program of the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center (Immigrants for Justice) where she learned the art of interviewing vulnerable individuals such as victims of abuse and assisting them in the preparation of their cases.

Idalis began her career as a lawyer on October 1, 1999, representing Cubans and Haitians in removal proceedings in Miami, Florida.  She worked as a Staff Attorney for Church World Services, a non-profit organization.  During her employment at CWS, Idalis represented the neediest and most vulnerable individuals.  This gave her the opportunity to learn about public benefits and community organizations with which she has been able to assist her own clients in need of special services.

Idalis has a passion for educating and helping immigrants.  She is often invited to radio and television shows as well as churches and schools to update the community on immigration issues.

Idalis is a board member of VIDA Legal Assistance, the only non-profit organization in South Florida with the sole mission of assisting immigrant survivors of violent crimes.  Additionally, she is a member of the Advisory Committee for Church World Services and has volunteered for the Special Immigrant Juvenile Pro Bono Project of the Cuban-American Bar Association.

When Idalis is not practicing law, she is probably at a baseball field cheering for her two boys or at a family gathering making memories with her loved ones.

Throughout the years, Idalis has resolved thousands of complex immigration-related cases involving individuals, families, and companies.  Her honesty, professionalism, family-run office, and years of experience in immigration law will ensure your satisfaction.

Idalis Perez is the attorney that cares for you and your loved ones because she, too, was an immigrant.
